Craziness, check ups, and baby steps

Today is a day of lots of crazy things happening. Allison didn't make it onto the potty. She always feels the need to run to me and tell me she has to potty, then runs to the potty but can't get her pants down in time and potty's in her pants and on the floor. No problem there, but today has been a defiant day for miss Allison. Has been doing the complete opposite after I tell her no.
-pinching baby's cheeks (i say no-she does it anyway)
-pulling baby's legs (no-doesn't listen)
-wash hands after potty (no-runs away)
It's a hard day for a 3 year old, who is showing her defiance because she is jealous. This is what I got from it. I have been controlling my anger better and have stepped back and took in a deep breathe and asked her calmly to stop. You know what, IT WORKS!!! Baby steps for me, but I'm changing my mothering:)

Paul 4 month check up
-15 pounds 10 ounces
-25.75 inches long
-44cm head circumference
-can push his chest up off the floor!!
-has rolled from front to back (a few times)
-has rolled from back to front (once!)
-very happy, smiley, giggly boy
-can sleep in his crib in his room until 2am, then I give in (I am working on it)

Funny note
-went to let the dogs inside the house today and got locked out by Allison!!! I was playing with Paul on the floor while she was playing by herself, nicely. The dog was barking so I went through the sliding glass door and opened the other door to let the dog in. Takes 2 seconds right??? well, I turn around and she has the sliding door closed and has locked it. What is more, she thinks this is HILARIOUS!!!!! Here I am freaking out because Paul is on the floor crying and Allison is laughing at me. Trying to reason with a 3 year old who thinks it is funny to lock me out was CRAZY!! Thought about going to the front door, but also realized she could run there faster and lock that door as well! Then I realized I had my phone in my pocket and grandma was upstairs. But I finally was able to talk her into opening the door for me. From now on I need to make sure she either comes with me and I grab Paul or that she is no where near the back door. Whew!

Blow Outs Palouza!!!!

I have never had a baby with so many outfit changes in ONE DAY!!!!!!! Paul has gone through 4 outfits today!!! Three of them within 30 minutes!!! First he has diarehea and I have it to, go figure. So he poops liquid at the moment. So he pooped about 2pm and it shot all the way up his back. So he got a bath and a new outfit. Then while I was putting his diaper on him he managed to pee in his mouth!!! YUCK!!!! So then about an hour later he pooped AGAIN and it shot up his back AGAIN!!!! Then when I changed the diaper and clothes again he managed to pee in his face again and all over me, which prompted another change of clothes for me and him. Then he pee'd through his clothes!!!!!!!! Diaper and clothes change number 4!!! I'm hoping it doesn't happen again!! It's just been one of those days!

Chili Cookoff and kids

So, we have a wonderful professional photographer in our Ward at church and she always brings her camera to events. So since all 7 of the babies that were born within 45 days of eachother were at the chili cookoff she took the oppurtunity to take a group shot! Here's the picture I like. Paul is the only one in a sleeper (only because he pooped through his other outfit). He's the second to last one on the right. The kids are almost in birth order as well. Just the two in the middle need to switch then the oldest starts on the left on October 5 and the last one on the right ends on November 18th.

Allison
-her surgery went great
-she's almost back to her old self
-sounds like minnie mouse right now
-great big sister who always helps out when needed and plays with her brother:)
-loves to give hugs to her friends even if they don't want to hug her
-says she loves her friends, which is very sweet.
-still takes the pacifier!!
-off of her sleep schedule, which means for 11pm bedtime:(
-3 years old and 6 months weighs 29 pounds

Paul
-can push his chest off the floor and keep it up!
-has learned to roll from front to back, but can't do the opposite yet
-has started to giggle, but doesn't do it much
-has realized when mom leaves the room and starts to cry
-is starting to sleep in his room in his crib!!!!!!!!
-is almost 4 months old and weighs 14 pounds 8 ounces! (half of his sisters weight)
-a very easy going baby
-LOVES LOVES LOVES his BIG SISTER!!
-loves to hold onto toys and stuffed animals (mainly bites and sucks on them)
-still trying to figure out how to get his thumb in his mouth and how to keep it there but sometimes chokes on his fingers

Baby Boom

So I live in the Naperville 1st Ward (LDS) and within a 45 day period 6 of us ladies had 7 babies between October and November. Well, we had the Annual Chili Cookoff over the weekend and ALL 7 of the babies were there, including my own newwest addition Paul. We couldn't resist getting a picture!! On a sidenote Jason had been cooking chili for 3 months and it PAID OFF!!! He won the award for BEST CHILI!!! I'm so proud of him. There will probably not be chili for a long time.
Allison's surgery went well and she is doing much better. Back to her old self, I'd say. We just shouldn't have let her get away with everything after her surgery.
Paul is now 15 weeks old!!! Time flies when you have a new baby, and we will be going to visit my family in about 6 weeks and it will be the first time most of my family will see him, except my parents who came up when he was born. Well, crying baby means I gotta go. Enjoy this picture of our children and my son is the 6th baby (going from left to right). He's the one leaning on the boy on the end.

Valentines

Happy Valentines Day everybody. Though Valentines Day seems more special for dating couples then mrried couples.
Allison had her tonsils and adenoids out on Friday. She acted as though she didn't even have surgery for the first two days. It finally started to hit her on Sunday and now she doesn't feel so well and her throat hurts. But she should start to feel better in a week or so.
Paul, my little 14 week old (3months) man just keeps on growing!!! HE has his 3 month check up on Wednesday, but he went to the doctor last week because he was sick and he already weighs 14 pounds!!! He's my big boy, I wish he'd stop growing! But he's a cutie pie and I love both my kids so very much. Holidays are much more special when you have kids:)

I wish

There are a lot of things I wish. But one that I wish over and over again at this moment is that my daughter would just leave me alone for awhile and go play by herself. At what age do they play by themselves?? She's almost 3 and a half years old. I'm hoping it should have happened already. Then at what age do they start to listen to you without having to ask over and over and over again and then start yelling at them and threatening you. I love NAP TIME. Yes my daughter still gets a nap because it is the ONLY time I get to myself without her constantly bothering me. I also have a 3 month old who needs my attention but he will lay anywhere and be fine. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE playing with my kid but every second of every day is starting to wear on me a little bit. I guess I just need a break. I think I will go to the Relief Society receipe club on Thursday, that will give me a little break from the kids. I think I may need a nap. Thank goodness it is almost bed time.
My baby Paul exactly 3 months old today!!! Wow how time flies. It seems like it was just yesterday that we took him home from the hospital. He's already 14 pounds and 25.5 inches long!!! Into 3-6 month clothes already!!! Allison goes in for her surgery on Friday, so she will be just laying around for awhile which will be a different change. I guess that will give me a break. I'm scared about her surgery but it is a routine surgery so there's really nothing to worry about. She got invited to her first birthday party today and she's excited!!! She had her first birthday party when she turned 3 and she loved it. Well, it's time for bath time:)

Snowpocolapyse!

Holy Snow Batman!!!! Well, we started to get snow Monday night, and into Tuesday morning and afternoon from a little snow storm. Then the blizzard hit Tuesday night!!! It has finally stopped snowing about 10am Wednesday morning and we got about 18 inches of snow!!! Our snow drifts however are about 7 or 8 feet high. We are digging out little by little and will eventually get dug out, but the snow plow has yet to come to our street. I wonder if we will even get out tomorrow? I took Allison out twice to play in the snow but she gets lost in it and the dogs do not want to go out to go potty either.
