As Promised

As promised. This is the birthday cake that I made a few weeks ago for a church friend. It took me awhile to get this picture up but I finally did. This cake didn't take me long to make it. I baked the cake the night before and decorated it the day of. And it is a chocolate cake, yum, yum!

I'm Back

It's been quite a long time since I've blogged. I just haven't been in the mood, either that or I can't get to it because my now 2 year old keeps me from doing anything personal. It's been a crazy couple of months. I made a wedding cake for a dear friend of mine from college and they liked it so much that her sister has asked me to make her wedding cake as well. I'm still contemplating doing hers. I was also asked to make a birthday cake for someone in my Ward, which I absolutely loved doing. I have lots of pictures to get up here to show those of you who read my blog. But I will start with the wedding cake that I made back in August.

I made a sheet cake, a 4 tier cascading cake, and a grooms cake. The sheet cake and the wedding cake were yellow cake with a strawberry filling and some had a chocolate genoshe filling. The grooms cake was chocolate with a chocolate genoshe filling. The grooms cake was lots of fun. My friends now husband was a Marine for 4 years and he collects old war helmets. The grooms cake I made was a replica of one of the WWII hats he had re-painted himself. I copied all of the colors and his pattern and he loved it. The flowers on the wedding cake were ALL edible. It took a very long time to make those calla lillies and roses by hand. But the end result was worth it. It was worth all of the time I took to make this cake just to see how happy they were with the end result. All of the cakes had buttercream icing and the wedding cake also had a basket weave pattern with violet intertwined, which of course I did on my own. It took me a total of 4 days to make the 6 cakes. The first day I baked all of the cakes (the wedding cake was 2 layers each). Then it took me a day and a half to make all of those flowers and another day and a half to decorate. I will put up the birthday cake I made next time as well as some Halloween photo's of my little girl.

Cat for Sale

Ok there is no cat for sale but I have learned that I need to keep Allison's door closed whenever we are not in her room. This is the second day in a row that Cassidy's cat has pee-pee'd on Allison's bed. I'm starting to get angry and there may not be a cat when Cassi gets home from school one day. I'm just saying. I think Cassi thinks it's funny, she says the cat is jealous because Allison gets her own room and the cat doesn't. She's a cat, she claims everything and she's not trained so she goes to the bathroom everywhere. So I'm washing Allison's bedding again, and from now on her door stays closed. Unless she's asleep in there, then I keep it open.
In other news, I've started the process of teaching Allison to sleep in her own room. Right now she falls asleep laying on the floor next to me in her room and then I trasfer her to her bed. But the first couple of nights she cried and screamed for anyone but me for 2-3 hours. Last night she only cried and screamed for 45 minutes until she gave up. But she does not sleep through the night. Does anyone else have an almost 2 year old who wakes up 2-4 times a night? I do not understand why she does this. I do play soft classical music in her room most of the night and I keep a fan running on low for the white noise and I keep a night light on in her room all night long. These things seem to help. My next step is getting her to fall asleep in her new bed and not on the floor next to me. That will be a difficult thing to do. The funny thing is that Jason has been wanting Allison out of our room for over a year now and now that I'm doing it he misses her. Who'd of thunk that I would be the strong one and Jason would be the soft one. At night when Allison cries she calls for dada and if daddy happens to come in to the room he will take her out and into our room which defeats the purpose of what I'm trying to accomplish. Maybe this time next week Allison will be falling asleep without me lying next to her.
Does anyone have any advice on getting Allison to sleep without me lying next to her?? Or should I just close the door and let her scream and cry until she tires herself out?? Feedback would be nice:) Until next time....

Moving Day Come and Gone

Well, Moving day has come and gone. Thank you to everyone who came to help us move. The last few weeks have been crazy. I packed the house and we moved less than a week ago. So far I've got my daughters room set up and the kitchen is completely un-packed. I never knew how much stuff you can accumulate in the course of 2 years. We've still got a whole lot to un-pack. But things are starting to look a little better.

Feed the Starving Children

Today I went to our Wards service project. I throughly enjoyed the experience. We filled bags of nutritioal food (Chicken, Veggies, Soy, and Rice). There were the fillers, who filled the bags with the food, then there were the baggers who held the bags under the funnel to get filled. Then there was the closer (the person who sealed the bag-my job) and the boxer. Our table filled 15 boxes in total in a little over an hour!!! Way to go team!! I reccommend that anyone who is given the opportunity to serve this non-profit organization to do so! You could feel the spirit in the room, it was wonderful!

Accident Prone

I've come to the conclusion that Allison is accident prone. We had to take Allison to the ER a week ago and she was just at the ER two months before that. She has now had two nursemaid's elbows. Easy fix, takes all of 2 seconds. But what happens is her arm bone pops out of her elbow and the ligament flatens and the bone can't get back into place. So we've got to take her to the doctor (ER in this case because it seems to happen when the doctors are closed). But all is well! She's also got two scabs on each knee from falling on the pavement. What am I going to do with her?

In other news, we are moving down the street at the end of this month! The bedrooms are a little bigger, and Allison gets her very own bedroom!!! Cassi and I are decorating the room. But now's the hard part. Going through several days of crying at night until she is able to sleep alone and soothe herself back to sleep. But we will get through it. I've got the baby blue's and I've been thinking about wanting another child. But that will not happen anytime soon. Maybe someday in the future.

My birthday was last week and I got a receipe book for cupcakes!!! I decorate cakes and cupcakes. I also got Wii Resort and a cupcake tower. My family likes cupcakes over cakes and I hate to tell them but cupcakes are just small versions of cakes. I've already made a snickerdoodle cupcake with 7 minute frosting! yum yum!!

I've got some packing to start and some painting to do. We are going to paint Allison's dresser, a wooden cat and dog, and a wooden sign that says princess and letters to spell out Allison. I've still got a little bit of shpping to do. A toy chest for Allison and curtains for her room as well. I figure she doesn't need that much stuff, she's got tons upon tons of toys!! I've got some pictures of a cake I made that I will put up in my next blog. I've also got a cake to make for the August birthdays at Jasons work. So until next time, bloggers!

Princess Potty

This is her Princess Potty except that it's pink and not blue
Well to those of you who read this blog I need some advice. First of all Allison has been telling us for a few weeks now when she's stinky or wet and needs to be changed. Yesterday morning she pointed to her diaper and said stinky, but she wasn't stinky. But what she was telling me was that she needed to go to the bathroom before she went to the bathroom. She went peepee right after she told me she needed to. So I figured that was enough signs for me to get her a potty. So when I was at Target I got her a Princess Potty, that plays music when you go to the bathroom and you can use it as a step stool and move it to the regular toliet. So here's my question, to those of you with girls. How do I start teaching her how to go to the bathroom on the potty?? I do not know what to do. My mother in law told me to put her on the potty when she's about ready to poop because that is the easiest sign to recognise first. But how do you get them to start going potty in it?? Right now I take off her diaper and sit her on it and ask her to potty if she needs to. I've also been putting her on the potty with the diaper off when I go to the bathroom. I've heard that doing this helps them understand because mommy is doing it. But I do not know if she knows that that is what I am doing. Now she is only 22 months old. So if anyone has any advice please feel free to write it on here or call me to talk to me about it!

My last month

Hello to all who look to see if I've added a new page in my blog. Well, it's been a long time. I lose track of time. I've had a very busy month of June. But what a wonderful month it was. We visiting my family and on the way back home we picked up our neice Taylor (Jason's family) to come and visit with us for two weeks. We had such a wonderful time with her. The about pictures have Taylor and Brayden in them. Father's Day weekend was very fun, Taylor's parents came up and brought their youngest 3 1/2 year old Brayden! He stayed with us for the folling week as well. Brayden is so full of life, like the energizer bunny he keeps on going. I joke about he was such great birth control for me because as of now I have no interest in having another child. My little Allison is such a sweet girl and he is a little of the opposite. I do not know how anyone can handle more children!!! But I hear once you get to number three it's no big deal. What do I say to that, yeah right.
The weekend after Fathers Day was our Fun Run! We left little Brayden home with Aunt Csasi and took Allison and Taylor with us. Taylor decided to run ahead of us while we walked since we were strolling Allison and we were OUT OF SHAPE! Well, when we finally got finished we realized Taylor was MISSING!!!!! And she was ahead of US! Well, we found out the Bishops Wife and their newest grandchild was also missing. But they were finally found a big 10 minutes later. They had taken a wrong path together, thank goodness and all was well.
Allison had so much fun with Brayden. She calls him BeBe! Every morning while he was here instead of asking me where's dada, she would ask where's BeBe. When grandma and grandpa came home she ran up to them and asked where's BeBe? He's at home was out response for the next week. So BeBe please come back and visit!
Though I say Brayden was a handful he was also lots of fun. Every night at dinner he was given a knife at his place setting to which he would hand the knife to grandpa and say "Papa, mama tells me I not allowed to have knives". How wonderful was that? And every night grandpa would forget and so every time he'd give the knife to papa and tell him the same thing.
That sums up my last month in a nut shell. I have many more stories but I should write them in another post. Good Night to all!

Our little bunnies and other things

Sadly we heard from the Willowbrook Wildlife Center that one of the three bunnies we saved had to be euthenized. They said that the damage from the dog was too bad to help the ppo bunny and didn't want it to suffer any longer. But we don't know about the other two bunnies. We assume they only put one down, but we don't know.

This weekend we are taking a 4 and 1/2 hour drive down to Alton Illinois to visit my parents:) We will only be there for the weekend but I'm glad I get to see my dad again, since they can not afford to take off work to come up and visit us. Allison just needs to spend time with her other grandparents as well. She is lucky to be able to have two sets of grandparents and two sets of great grandparents still alive.

Jason, cassidy and I have all decided to start exercisinf again. Jason and I exercised 4 days a week a few months ago and then stopped. And once you stop it's hard to start up again. Well, we're starting up again. So far Jason has been jogging/walking for the last 3 days one mile at a time. I went yesterday and I am going to go again today. We want to loose weight and eat healthier so we can be in good shape for the Cruise that we are hoping to take in March of next year!

Poor Peter Cottontail:(

Ok First off, this is the third post I have posted tonight. I wanted to get everything on while I had time to. So the two other posts are pictures from the wedding cake I made and from my cake class.

This is Peter, or as Cassidy calls him Petey. A few days ago Sammy (our dog) found a cottontail bunny nest and decided to bring a few bunnies into the house. He killed four of the seven bunnies. Not intentionally we think, when you disturb baby bunnies they go into shock easily and die. Well we thought Petey was dead. My father in law went out to gather the poor bunnies and Petey screamed and if you have never heard a newborn bunny scream they are loud and high pitched squeelers. Scared the poo out of us! But we took the poor little guy in and got him into a box on top of a heating pad.

The next morning Sammy brought another baby bunny to the back door. This one was also alive. So we put him with his brother and then Cassidy and I took them to the Willowbrooke Wildlife Center. We're hoping they made it. Well, little did we know that at three in the morning (after we brought Petey and his brother in) Sammy had managed to bring in another bunny. Sammy had been by our bedroom door all day and I finally asked Sammy what he was doing. Mind you this was after we brought the other bunnies to the center. Well, we moved the shelf and low and behold there was another baby bunny!!!! This one had it's eyes open but was the same size. So we figure Sammy brought this one upstairs and dropped it at 3am and the baby bunny ran and hid under and behind our shelf. So we got him and put him in another box and brought him to the Wildlife Center after lunch. I really wished we could have kept them but it's against the law and I didn't know how to take care of newborn bunnies. We couldn't put them back outside since the nest was destroyed and some of them had been hurt. That was our Tuesday and Wednesday adventures. We're just hoping another bunny doesn't have their babies in the yard and Sammy does not bring them into the house!

Cake from my last cake class

Ok here's another cake that I just made from my final cake class. I had fun making all the flowers for this cake. The flowers on this cake is edible. All of it, well except for the stamins. It took me three hours to make all those flowers, but it only took my two hours to completely decorate this small little cake! I had soo much fun with these classes and I believe I have found my calling. So anyone who would like a cake made (you pay for cost of ingredients and how long it would take me to make the cake hourly-which I haven't decided on how much an hour I should charge) call me. I make all kinds of cakes, not just wedding cakes:)

As Promised!

Well it took long enough but I am now posting the wedding cake pictures from the cake I made from Heather Haskins (now Caufield-wrong spelling) wedding. I enjoyed making this cake and I'm more then willing to make any type of cake for anyone. Whether it be a birthday cake, annivarsary cake, or an event cake. If any of you have a facebook I have tons and tons of cake pictures from the different cakes I've made. Check them out on my facebook!

And this is what the cake looked like from the inside! It was a deliciuos fluffy yellow cake (i made it from scratch no box) with a raspberry filling (also from scratch) and a buttercream icing (from scratch) with fondant covering the outside of the cake. The flowers were made my Addraine McCowan (she did all the flowers for Heathers wedding)

Been awhile

Well well....it's been quite awhile since I've last posted anything. Heather Haskin, now Caufield (i think that's how you spell it) had her wedding last week and it was beautiful. I love the cake. Then again I'm biased since I made it. I will have to post a picture on here, I have pictures as I think Heather does as well, I have just been a little busy or lazy to get them on the computer.
Memorial Day was fun for us. Jason, Allison, and I went to the zoo again, except this time it was just the three of us. That was a first, and Allison was a good little girl. She's starting to become much more of a well behaved little girl now. She is funny though, when we were passing by the camels she pointed to one that was lying down and she said "night, night". She loves to point out the obvious which is adorable!!
Yesterday I took her to Petland, since we haven't been there in a long time and she had a ball. She loves to see the puppies more through the window then play with them. Although she desperately wants a puppy to play with. there is a dog in the house but he's getting old and he doesn't play anymore. When we were there she even wanted to see the birds and hampsters, which was nice. I attempted to pick up a hamster and the little sucker bit me!! so after that little Allison would go up to them and say "no bite (while shaking her finger at them)". Then it was time to leave, and she did well (as no fit throwing). She noticed that they were napping so once again she would point to each and every one we passed and said "night, night".
She's growing up to be sch a big girl. She talks in complete sentences now and we understand her. Today when it was time for a nap she said no, but I preceded to go upstairs anyways and told her to follow as my hands were full of things. And you know what, she was such a good girl, she came up the stairs right after me!! What a big girl!!! Now don't tell her daddy that I let her climb the stairs whenever she wants. He would have a hayday. But he doesn't understand that Allison can get up and down the stairs all by herself no problem and I trust her. He doesn't, then again he is not around her as much as I am. We've got to let our little baby grow up:(

Chronicles of Allison

My 20 month old says the funniest things. She's cleaning up her language more and more now. We all understand her most of the time. But yeaterday was just beyond funny. I had a small glass of a drink and I was sharing it with Allison. Well, I finished the drink, she looked inside the cup, looked at me, and demandingly said "Get More!"
I could not believe she just told me that. I know we shouldn't do it but we of coarse laughed when she said it. Well, she wasn't joking. She went into the kitchen (where grandpa) was. He was getting something out of the fridge and so she grabbed the diet caffiene free pepsi bottle from the fridge and brought it to me. She meant business!!! It was very funny to all of us at that time, and she is always doing things like this now!

Cake Class Final

I had my final cake class mid week last week. I made the most beautiful cake I've made to date. I'll be starting my fourth cake class tomorrow. Learning how to stack cakes. Which I could probably do if I looked it up, but I like having classes. It gives me something to do. Also, everything on this cake is edible!

What is that?

The Tummy Tub has come to America. I'm pretty sure most of you have heard of this by now, it's been on the Today Show now. It's a tub you put your infant child in designed to mimic the womb. I guess it is a pretty good idea. But I do not know if I could put my child in that. Maybe if I have another child I would. It just looks a little weird. It looks as though your putting your child into a see-through bucket. It's sold for $45. That's a little too expensive for me right now, but maybe in the future?

No Nap

There are some days that I miss Allison's nap window and she gets overly tired and she becomes a handful to get down for a nap. Today was one of those days. It took me over an hour to get her to go down for a nap. Normally she grabs my hand and makes me go upstairs to let her go to sleep. She didn't do that today, but I took her upstairs anyways.
I think we've made some bad mistakes with Allison's sleeping habits. Since she was born someone else always wanted to hold her and let her fall asleep while being held, and to this day she still does not fall asleep on her own. I will try to put her in her crib to fall asleep but she refuses to fall asleep without human touch. This is a hinderance and I need to get her used to falling asleep on her own. Another mistake (which is my fault) is that she still sleeps in our room at 19 months old. We've got a room to put her in, but I'm hesitant to put her in there right now. WWhen we first thought about putting her in her own room and getting her used to sleeping by herself she got a bad rash from medicine, so we didn't. Then she got sick with another ear infection so that kept us from doing it again. Then she got tubes put in her ears and that kept us from moving her last week. This week we went on a mini vacation and that has prevented us from putting her in her own room this week. So maybe next week?? But there's the issue that she will cry for hours and so someone else will get her from the room which will keep her from learning to fall asleep on her own. Decisions, decisions...
I've almost eaten my alloted 2000 calories for the day in chocolate. Today is one of those days. I've got some flowers and a bird to make for my cake class final tomorrow as well as a cake and cookies (for Jason's home teaching families). Once the cake is finished I will post pictures!

Made It

We made it to Alton, Illinois! We left an hour behind when we wanted to leave but we were fine. It takes 4 hours to get here, and with the child it took us 5 hours. Then we went all around in Edwardsville, Illinois to see friends before we came to my parents house. So poor Allison was exhausted and very cranky with us. She slept for about 45 minutes in the car and she is still asleep at the moment. Hopefully she'll sleep for a little bit longer. Aparently my whole family is coming over tonight for a bbq my parents are having which is not going to be ok. Jason and I really wanted Allison to spend as much time as possible with her grandfather, but we have tomorrow. I'll tell you what, investing in a portable dvd player that hooks to the headrest of the car was the best thing we could have gotten. It was perfect and kept Allison entertained. Tomorrow will be an early rise and we're going to the St. Louis Zoo! I'm making a cake for my dad tonight and decorating it tomorrow! More pictures will be coming, just wait.

We're off to see my parents

Tomorrow we are heading to Alton, Illinois to visit my family. The last time I saw my father was almost 8 months ago and that was far too long ago. To date my dad has only seen his only granddaughter three times since she's been born. I hope she still remembers his face and isn't scared when we see him tomorrow. Which I think she will. We have noticed that Allison has this innate sense of family. Jason says she gets that from me. The last time we saw my dad Allison took right to him and it was like she knew that he was her grandfather.
We also get to see my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and my cousins 20 month old twins. I am the only person to live away from my family. I do miss not living within a 30 minute radius of anyone in my family, but I wouldn't change anything.
I've also realized that packing for just the weekend is a horrible task. IF it was just Jason and I then we'd only need one bag, that's it. But with Allison we have a suitcase, a bag with some toys and blankets, a diaper bag, the pack n play, a stroller, and snacks. We also bought a new portable dvd player that hooks to the headreat for her to watch a movie for the trip. We're pretty much packed, I just have to remember everything. And I also have to not forget anything on the way back, especially Marley! Here's to a nice trip and a good weekend!

To do list

It seems as though I always have a long to do list for the day. Yet I also feel that I do not do much at all. We are going to visit my parents for the weekend and we need to bring a lot of stuff with us. With a 19 month old I have to always bring more then I really should, just to be safe. So my list includes tolietries, clothes, cups, and food for us and the child. then there's toys (since my parents have no toys) play pen for her to sleep in, portable dvd player to keep the child occupied on the 5 hour trip, and our laptop (for my husbands enoyment).
Now we are hoping that the child will sleep atleast half of the way there. But I doubt that, the last time we went to visit was 8 months ago and she will not sleep that much. So that's what the dvd player is for.
Then my parents want me to make a cake for them. Which is fine, if I have time, which I should. And we're going to the zoo, shopping, and visiting with family in the two days we're there. well, not even two days!! But we will be down there for almost a week in September. She'll be two by then and my parents will probably throw her her own little birthday party.
But I still have to wash clothes and keep up with house cleaning and pack. Tomorrow we are going to take the child to see Disney's Earth. She loves anything with animals in it and she will sit through a two hour movie as long as there are animals that she loves. Well, it's time to check on clothes. Whoppii!

Bad Sleep Habits

Ok so what's the deal? For quite a while now I have been unable to get to sleep until about 2am. What is wrong with me?? I actually fell asleep around 11pm tonight, but got woken up by my daughter about an hour ago. And here I am as wide awake as ever! Dear me, I used to be able to get to bed by midnight every night. Not happening any longer. I'm thinking that maybe it's the child that has done this to me. I have been holding her a bit close and she still does sleep in my room at 19 months. I just need to clean out my in-laws computer room and get her settled in there. I just feel the room isn't baby or girly enough for her. Right now it's the junk room with a computer in it and there is no where to put the junk. What to do?? Well, I am going to desperately try to get some sleep.

Family Tree Cake

One of the first cakes that I made was this Family Tree cake. I made an even bigger cake when our family came to visit and I was able to fit all of our families faces on that cake.

Wedding Cakes

I've been asked to make two wedding cakes for weddings this year. I have been experimenting with these two cakes. the first wedding is in May and my other wedding is in september. Hopefully the brides and grooms love what I create for them. One of the cakes have edible calla lillies on the top, as to the specifications of the bride. These are works in progress!

Trip to the Brookefield Zoo

This was taken on the first visit to the zoo. We thought she would love riding the carousel with daddy. So daddy and baby rode on the carousel together. Allison did not like the ride. Everytime she came around grandpa and I would say hi and she started to get scared because she couldn't see us. So by the end of the ride she was not sitting down on her zebra, she was in daddy's arms. So as of now, she will not be riding on a carousel for awhile.

The second visit to the zoo we went with Jason's little sister and little brother. This time I got into a mama and baby kangaroo picture with Allison. But I was too short to reach the mama hole so we held allison in that hole. aparently the funny thing was that Allison didn't know what I was doing so she kept on yelling "mama, mama, hey mama" Jason thought it was quite funny that she was trying to get my attention and I did not know it.

Allisons most favorite place at the zoo was the childrens petting zoo. She could not get enough of those goats. She also loved to look at the other animals in the Children's Zoo that she could not run around with. We've gone to the zoo twice so far and have already paid for the family zoo pass. The last time we went she cried when we were leaving the petting zoo. She was not ready to leave yet, so we let her play for a while longer.

Well, after we saw the monkey house grandpa and Allison got their picture taken together.

Trip to the Zoo

This was Allison's first visit to the zoo and she absolutely loved it. The first thing she saw was this, and the first thing she told the cat was "no, no, bite" while shaking her finger at it. Then she kept on telling the animal "hi cat". And from then on she was telling all the animals we saw to "no bite". The funny thing is that no one bites her, not even the cat or dog in the house. So we do not know where she got the "no bite" from.

Adventures of Marley

A few weeks ago while Jason, Allie, and I were out shopping we stopped at Deep Discounts. Well, we always seem to forget that we can't take Allison anywhere without getting her something. While we were there, she wanted a little bunny book that came with a little bunny stuffed animal. We were fine with getting that for her. But being Allison she decided to walk down the childrens book isle and found the Marley and Me childrens book that came with a little marley stuffed animal (dog). She then decided that she must have that instead of the inexpensive one she first picked. I decided to tell her "no" and put the box back. Well, needless to say she defied me and grabbed the box and ran down every isle in that store calling for daddy. "If momma says no ask dada (is what she was thinking)". Sure enough she found dada with her arms wrapped around this Marley and Me box. Dada decided to let her have that instead since we were getting her something big, and besides it did come with a pretty nifty book. When we went to pay for our items she screamed and reached for her Marley. Once we got into the car dada took Little Marley out and gave it to her. She grabbbed Marley from him, gave Marley a huge hug, and with a big smile told dada, "thank you, thank you, thank you". That was all dada needed from her.

Since she's gotten Marley she does not go anywhere without him. We started to call him Marley since she got him, so when we ask where Marley is she will go and get him. This must be her ultimate favorite thing on the planet. When she picks him up she always has the biggest grin on her face and hugs him. She carries him around the house hugging him all the time. She even feeds him and gives him water. It has gotten to the point that sometimes she will not take a bath without him. Tantrums are thrown when he is not in her arms sometimes.
One thing she does with Marley that I find hilariuos is that apparently Marley is bad sometimes so she puts him in his box (the box he came in) and closes the lid. When I try to take him out she runs over, grabs him from me, and forcefully puts him back into the box. After awhile she will go back for him and take him out, like he's had his punishment.
We have all come to love Marley. He is very much apart of this family now, and he does everything with her. I do not know what we would do if she were to ever lose him. So we always know where he is at all times, no matter what. Because if she forgets where he is and starts to look for him we have to find him. There will always be Marley Tales in our family to share.

My favorite cake

There were many cakes to choose from but this cake as of now is one of my favorite cakes that I have made. This is the cake I made for my daughter on her first birthday. The funny thing was that she would not touch the cake. She hated getting dirty at that age so we had to feed it to her without her getting dirty.

Cakes Galore

I have been taking cake decorating classes that I love. I will be making my first wedding cake this May and my second wedding cake in September. Hopefully this will be the start of a little business for me that I would love. I want to make cakes that make people happy. Cakes that you can not buy in any regular bakery. This cake I made for my neice and nephew's birthday visit. However this is not my first cake.

The day after

This week has been a very eventful week. My daughter Allison (19 months old) had her first surgery on Friday. Granted the surgery was a simple procedure, but for those of you who are mothers, you understand what I went through. She got PE tubes put into her ears. I was pretty scared when they told me that she needed to be put to sleep in order to do the procedure but it would only take 10 minutes in the operating room. And boy were they right! My husband had gotten himself some tea while we were in the waiting room and his tea had not cooled down before she was finished with her surgery. The worst part of all of it was her coming out of the annesthesia. But she was back to her normal self after she had a long nap!
Allison has such a unique personality. She has the biggest heart especially when it comes to animals. She loves to chase the dog and cat around the house and she will sit through an entire movie as long as it has animals in it. I have so many stories to tell about my daughter and you will hear them all, but I am still in my pajamas and it is 11am! I have a movie date with my husband at 1pm. Farewell all!
